The service is led by consultant radiologists who specialise in musculoskeletal radiology and hold substantive NHS posts where they routinely carry out this work.

We accept referrals for ultrasound-guided steroid injections by a doctor or Clinical Specialist (i.e physiotherapist/podiatrist); we also accept self-referrals by patients. In both cases, the radiologist will assess the clinical indication and necessity for an injection at the time of the ultrasound, and proceed only if deemed to be of clinical benefit.
