Dr Malik is a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging, in particular sports imaging. Dr Malik performs all types of MSK Imaging, including ultrasound-guided interventions such as steroid and PRP injections. He has been on the executive committee for the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists.

Dr Malik has a substantive full-time NHS consultant post at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital (BTUH) and is currently the Clinical Director for Radiology for the Mid Essex, Southend and Basildon NHS Trust. He is responsible for a department of 60 radiologists, 500 staff and a £37m budget. He is also a Lead Medical Appraiser for BTUH for 450 doctors.

Dr Malik is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer for UCL Medical School and also lectures extensively nationally and internationally. He has served on the Royal College of Radiologists Scientific Programme Committee as well as being the Newsletter Editor.
