Clinical Profile

Mr John Edwin is an Upper Limb Consultant based at Basildon University Hospital with over 20 years of national and international experience.

He believes in a holistic approach to your health issues and aims to resolve your health issues in line with GMC Good Medical Practice. He believes in offering surgery only if it’s absolutely necessary.

At Oakdin Clinic, Mr Edwin can offer surgical inputs under local anaesthetic for your lumps and bumps, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, ganglion cyst, early Dupuytrens contracture, local steroid injections for shoulder pain, tennis/golfer elbow, thumb and wrist arthritis.

Academic Profile 

After his medical school and postgraduate training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in India, Mr Edwin proceeded to gain further orthopaedic training at centres of excellence in Liverpool, Exeter and London. Following his FRCS qualification, he completed complex trauma, Shoulder & Elbow and Wrist & Hand Fellowships at King’s College Hospital, London. He gained additional experience at the Shoulder fellowship in Nottingham.

He is an appointed Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at New Vision University, Georgia. He is also a key faculty member in FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedic) courses at King’s College Hospital, Medway Hospital, Luton Hospital, ORUK and the Muller FRCS Course in Chennai, India.

Mr Edwin has kept abreast of the latest advances in his field of expertise by attending national and international courses, conferences and workshops. He has delivered guest lectures in Europe and Asia at various meetings. He is actively involved in training the future generations of doctors and orthopaedic surgeons and helps maintain the highest standards of care.
