Mr Anwar Ahmad (MBBS, MD, FRCS)

Clinical Profile
Mr Ahmad, a Consultant General, Laparoscopic and Colorectal Surgeon, is a substantive NHS consultant at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital, where he is also the lead for paediatric surgery. He specialises in minimally invasive surgical techniques. At Oakdin Clinic he is available to treat lower rectal bleeding caused by haemorrhoids (treatment options include banding and injections) and anal fissures.
Rigid sigmoidoscopy and proctoscopy can also be carried out in clinic.
Academic Profile
Aftergraduating from Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan, Mr Ahmad completed basic surgical training in Merseyside. His interest in surgical research brought him to St Thomas’ Hospital in London where he completed a higher degree at King’s College London. Higher surgical training was completed in London (North East Thames rotation). Mr Ahmad obtained valuable training while working with world-renowned surgeons at tertiary centres in London. After finishing training Mr Ahmad completed a post CCT fellowship in robotic surgery at Portsmouth.
